Sanford High School 2023 graduate Izzy Tremblay was awarded the $1,000 Aroma Joes Student Athlete Scholarship by the Maine Principals Association and Aroma Joes last week.
The scholarship is awarded to a senior who displayed excellence in areas of academics, athletics and community service.
Tremblay was one of Sanford’s top-10 graduates this year and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She was a four-year, All-Academic Award winner in each sports season.
Tremblay plans to major in Biology at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. To read more about Tremblay’s accomplishment, click here.

Former Sanford Mainer Selected in MLB Draft
2022 Sanford Mainer Quinn McDaniel was selected by the San Francisco Giants with the 153rd pick during the fifth round of the MLB Draft.
McDaniel had a batting average of .308 with eight home runs, 30 RBI and 48 hits in 42 games with Sanford last summer.
McDaniel, an Eliot, Maine native, was a three-year starting second baseman at the University of Maine.
During his three years at Orono, McDaniel hit .321 with 32 home runs, 111 RBI and 59 runs scored.
