Mason Van Gieson and Julissa McBarron were named Athletes of the Week by The Spartan Times Student Newspaper

Sanford High School seniors Mason Van Gieson and Julissa McBarron were named athletes of the week by the Spartan Times for their performances in the postseason.
Van Gieson participated in wrestling and indoor track this winter. He earned his 100th career win in wrestling and finished seventh in the Pole Vault at the indoor track and field state championships over February break.
McBarron, a captain on the girls’ basketball team, scored a team-high 21 points in Sanford’s comeback win over Thornton Academy in the quarterfinals of the Class AA South playoffs over February break.
