The girls’ soccer team dropped games to Windham (3-2) on Oct. 9 and Scarborough (4-0) on Oct. 11, before taking down Westbrook 8-0. Five players scored for Sanford: Hailey Tarbox, Ailey Mann, Kailyn Stuart, Addie Fiandaca, and Audrey Cote.
The Sanford High School boys’ soccer team fell to Marshwood 3-1 on Monday, Oct. 9. Cole Adawadkar scored the lone goal in the 79th minute for the Spartans. Beckett Harlow had 14 saves.
The team fell to Cheverus, 2-0, on Senior Night, Oct. 12.
The field hockey team beat the Portland-Deering co-op team 5-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Zoe McCann and Sadie Sevigny each scored two goals for Sanford.
The Spartans lost to Cheverus, 4-1, the next day.
The football team fell to Bonny Eagle, 56-7, on Friday, Oct. 13. Carter Buswell completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Rylen Avery.
The cross-country team hosted the SMAA Second Seven Meet on Saturday, Oct. 14. Elijah Hill, Mason Van Gieson, Matthew Melvin, Shawnty Harris, Jack Van Gieson, and Cynthia Carrol all finished their regular season with personal records.
The girls’ volleyball team beat Kennebunk 3-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Samone Gallagher had a career-high 20 kills, while Ellery Genest dished out 22 assists.

The 7th and 8th grade boys’ soccer teams earned wins over Noble on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The 8th-graders won by a score of 3-2, and the 7th-graders won 5-2.
