Several SHS student-athletes were named to all-conference and all-academic teams

Several Sanford High School athletes were recently named to the Southern Maine Athletic Association (SMAA) All-Conference and All-Academic teams for winter sports.
Julissa McBarron was named to the first all-conference and all-defensive teams for girls’ basketball. Paige Sevigny and Sadie Sevigny were SMAA Honorable Mention selections.
Natalie Lam, Taylor Coffey, Alissa Long, and Arianna Martel were all-conference selections in cheering.
Makai Bougie was named to the boys’ basketball all-conference second team, while Dylan Gendron was selected to the all-rookie squad.
In ice hockey, Ayden Lockard was a first-team all-conference selection and named a Travis Roy Award finalist.
The following SHS athletes were named to all-academic teams: Natalie Lam, Harlow Noble, Eliza Allen, Elizabeth Cahoon, Landon Gosling, Isabelle McGown, Matthew Melvin, Brady Adams, Bryce Adams, Ryan Alexander, AJ Anderson, Lucas MacLean, Tanner McCann, Aidan Gendron, Alexis Hayward, Quang Lam, Zach Machienzi, Conner Pickering, Jack Van Gieson, Eveyln Cole, Laila Della Croce, Linda-Rose Krol, Addie Fiandaca, Quinn Fogarty, Ava Hudson, Eleonora Mancini, Hazell Marcinkowski, Isabelle McCall, Zoe McCann, Shelby McLeod, Paige Sevigny, Sadie Sevigny, Haley Stimmel, and Hailey Tarbox.
SHS Alum Makes Division III All-American Track 2nd Team
Sanford High School alum Ethan Shain was named to the All-American second team for his efforts in the 60-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Shain, who competes for the University of Southern Maine, finished 16th in the event in 6.87 seconds. His time was the third-fastest in USM history. Shain graduated from Sanford High School in 2020.

Connor Curcio Joins Sanford Mainers Staff
Connor Curcio has joined the Sanford Mainers’ staff as part of its game-day operations for the 2024 season. Curcio is studying Sports & Recreation Management and Business Administration and is also a member of UNE’s Men’s Basketball team.
