Shaker Hill Bakery & Catering, on the campus of York County Shelter Programs, is open for the season! The bakery will be open Thursday-Sunday each week, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., through December.
With such an excellent response from customers last year, YCSP decided to open the bakery doors a bit earlier this year, and with extended hours. They will be offering their usual varieties of breads, rolls, pies and pastries, all made on-site by volunteer staff, who are experienced bakers.
They also feature specialty items, which change from weekend to weekend, including goodies such as chicken pot pie – great dishes you can serve your family.
They’re easy to find – at the top of Shaker Hill in Alfred, the home of York County Shelter Programs. All proceeds go to fund YCSP’s important work, which helps many Sanford residents. The bakery also provides valuable job training skills to start people on the path to self-sufficiency.
Please feel free to call in your orders; they are happy to have everything ready for pick-up. Contact Scott Davis, YCSP’s Food Services Director, at (207) 324-8811 or (207) 324-6953; or email scottd@ycspi.org.
The bakery also offers catering for special events, including graduation parties, family events and reunions, weddings, and corporate events. Give them a call and they will help you plan for these special moments.
