The week of August 23 will bring a few opportunities for new students to check out their classrooms and meet their teachers.
Orientation for the Class of 2025 and transfer students will take place at Sanford High School in the Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, August 24 at noon and 6:00 p.m. Schedules for incoming freshmen and transfer students will be available for pick up at the orientation.
Sanford Middle School is welcoming new students to schedule a tour of the building. Counselors will be available Monday-Thursday, August 23-26 8:00 a.m. to noon. Please call the Guidance Office at 324-3055 if you would like to set up a time. They are having an open house for grades 5 and 7 on Thursday, August 26 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.; and for grades 6 and 8 on Wednesday, September 1 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
On Thursday, August 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sanford Pride Elementary, Carl J. Lamb School and Margaret Chase Smith School will be hosting open houses for students and families to come for a quick visit to meet your child’s teacher and to see their new classroom. Please plan to spend just fifteen minutes or less in light of the pandemic. Afterward, stop by the National Night Out event in Central Park for a free hot dog or hamburger!
After the 26th, Sanford’s public schools will be closed to the public for the foreseeable future, so please try to make one of these events if you can.
On Sunday, August 29, St. Thomas School will hold an open house and “Pack Your Own Picnic” from 10:00 a.m. to noon, following a Back to School Mass at Holy Family Church at 9:00. Come and meet Fr. Bill and Fr. Alex, the St. Thomas staff and teachers, see your children’s classrooms, get reacquainted with parents you already know, and meet some new ones!
