Seaman Brayden Ginchreau has completed his U.S. Navy recruit training, having placed in the top five of his class, and is now in training at the Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, CT. Brayden is a 2019 graduate of Sanford High School and is the son of Amy O’Connor and grandson of David and Lynda Ginchreau.

During this challenging year everyone at the Sanford-Springvale YMCA stepped up to help meet the changing needs of the community. The Y celebrated Tuesday with a staff & family outing at Bunganut Lake Park. The following Y staff members were recognized for their years of service – 15 years: Vicki Farmer and Tracy Henwood; 10 years: Chris Dymond; 5 years: Rod Bucklin, Jennifer Fenderson and Sam Mignano.
The “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive ensures that York County students get off to a good start in school. Wanda Parent and her crew of volunteers have been working hard to collect the supplies and backpacks donated by generous community members and local businesses. Marc Motors recently gave them a big boost with a donation of $1,500 toward teacher supplies.
