The Sanford Mainers have awarded the David M. Ahern Memorial Scholarship to Sanford High School graduate Mollie Hludik. Mollie was a member of the Spartans soccer program for all four years, while also participating as a member of the track and field and basketball teams her first three years. She also served on the board of directors for the school’s Key Club community service organization, including as president from her sophomore to senior years. She will be attending the University of Southern Maine to study nursing.
The Sanford Springvale Chamber Ambassadors recently welcomed owner Michael Magri with a ribbon cutting at his 4 Gen Barbershop, located at 859 Main St. in Sanford. A Grand Opening is scheduled for August 28 from 11am – 2PM with a cookout of hamburgers, hot dogs and plenty of prize giveaways including haircuts, shaves and more. Hours of operation are Tuesday – Friday 9AM – 5PM, Saturday 9AM – 3PM. For more information call Michael Magri at 207-850-1181.
