Dance Studio of Maine South (DSOM South) is an award-winning dance studio located at 751 Main St. in Sanford. The studio’s director, Nikki Girroir, and the owner of the business, Trish Moulton, work together to lead the studio’s team with dedication and passion. Girroir comments that her greatest business achievements are watching her students grow as dancers each day. She and her colleagues are proud and honored that the studio has been awarded the title of “Best Studio in Sanford/Springvale” for 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Founded in June 2019, DSOM South currently employs five individuals and has approximately 200 students/dancers enrolled. The studio offers classes to those aged 18 months through adulthood and focuses on a variety of dance styles including, but not limited to, jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, acrobatics and contemporary.
Having earned a degree in Dance Performance from the University of the Arts, Girroir leads with an impressive dance background and solid studio management experience. She states, “Over the past decade, I have honed my skills as both an educator and a performer, teaching at multiple prestigious studios and dancing professionally with esteemed companies in Boston. Additionally, I oversaw operations at a third location of a dance studio in Massachusetts before relocating to Maine.”
Girroir’s passion and dedication for dance is notable. She has created a safe and happy environment for dancers to express themselves. Girroir’s goal for DSOM South is to grow enrollment 5-10% every year by fostering a sense of community that enriches the lives of its students.
