Ralph Chasse, 84, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, September 24 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Ralph was born in South Paris, Maine on July 21, 1940, to Ralph and Clara (Roy) Chasse, Sr. He was employed for many years at Westcott Ford in Sanford where he worked as a mechanic and autobody repairman. He was always very good with his hands and enjoyed repairing vehicles and restoring old cars. Ralph is survived by his significant other, Rollande Brochu of Springvale; four siblings, Donald Chasse and his wife Sandy, Carl Chasse and his fiancée Debbie; Lorina Dryden and Verna Vezina and many nieces and nephews. At Ralph’s request, the arrangements will be private.
Harold R. Hall, Jr., 83, of Sanford, died Monday, September 30 in Berwick. He was born in Alfred on February 25, 1941, the son of Harold R. Sr. and Christine (Whitehouse) Hall. He grew up in Alfred and graduated from Sanford High School. He married Joanne Chase right out of high school. They would have celebrated their 65th anniversary this year. Harold worked at several jobs before settling into a career in truck driving, spending many years doing long-haul work. He drove over a million miles without an accident. Later, he worked as an equipment operator in the construction industry. Harold enjoyed the outdoors, spending countless hours riding snowmobiles and motorcycles, hunting, fishing and taking trips to Moosehead for outdoor adventures. He even rode to Moosehead with a broken leg on his motorcycle just so he didn’t miss out on the fun with his friends. Harold was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Barbara Grondin and Betty Yates. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Hall; his children, Tammy Tranchemontagne and her husband Charles, Alan Hall and his wife Jill and Kenneth Hall and his wife Jennifer; his brother, Kenneth Hall and his wife Rachel; his ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. A celebration of Harold’s life will take place at the Brothers in Alfred on Saturday, October 19 at 11 am. A light luncheon and refreshments will be served.
Jodi Hussey, 49, of Sanford, passed away on August 22. Jodi was born in Biddeford on November 19, 1974. She was a very outgoing women who loved nature. She would go to the ocean just to feel the breeze and the warm sun on her skin. Often, she would be looking at the sunrise or the sunset. Jodi always lived in the moment. She would treat everyone like family, she accepted everyone as they were. Jodi is pre-deceased by her father David Guimond. She is survived by her son, Dylan Guimond of Texas, her daughter Sierra and her husband Rene Lenhardt of Sanford, sister Shannon and her husband Chris Lowery of Berwick, her nephews CJ and Ayden and mother Gloria Gregoire. No services are planned at this time.
Linda Louise Kreider, 76, of York, died Friday, September 27 at Durgin Pines Nursing home, surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born in Sanford on July 5, 1948, the daughter of the late George and Irene (Stackpole) Roberts and attended local schools. Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Time with her grandchildren brought her great joy. She always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. She enjoyed antiquing (collecting over 3,000 salt and pepper shakers) koalas, bird watching and her gardens. Linda was predeceased by her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Barry L. Kreider; son James Edward Andrews IV; daughter Jamie Lynn Andrews; her parents and sister Beverly Hamilton. She is survived by her son John and his wife, Jennifer; son Daniel and his wife, Susan; son Robert and his wife, Myla; daughter Kerri and her husband, Jason; along with ten grandchildren, a great grandson and her sister, Brenda Powers. Memorial Services will be held on October 18, 2024, at noon in the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.

Gayle Martineau, 66, went home to be with the Lord on October 1. She was born Gayle Ann Therrien in Sanford on March 17, 1958, the daughter of Lucille and Roland Therrien. She attended schools in Sanford, graduating from Sanford High in 1976. She worked at various places, including Microwave Associates, Computer Vision, Cabletron, Rochester, NH, Bass Warehouse in Sanford and The Seagull Motor Inn, in Wells. Gayle met her future husband, Bob in high school. The Lord blessed her and her husband with a wonderful son, Anthony. Gayle was a very strong, caring, and common-sense person who loved flower gardening with her many flowers, while enjoying the company of her golden retrievers. The ocean was her happy place, all the stress of the day would instantly evaporate once she was swimming in the ocean. She was a wonderful wife, terrific mother, loving sister and a great cook. She leaves behind her loving husband Bob, son Anthony and daughter-in-law Rebecca, sister Joyce Cyr, nephew Patrick Cyr, and nieces, Annie and Eliza Cyr. She was predeceased by her parents. A graveside service was held at St. Ignatius Cemetery on Friday, Oct. 11.

Rachel Normand Wallingford, age 76, passed away on September 29 at her home in Lebanon, from a short but intense battle with cancer. Rachel graduated from Sanford High School and pursued a diverse career path that included roles as a surgical technician, postmistress, and realtor, holding licenses in both Florida and Maine. Rachel was known for her welcoming nature, and generosity, and her deep devotion to her family. She had a profound love of dogs and supported many animal welfare organizations. Gardening was a special passion of hers; she enjoyed canning vegetables from her summer garden. She toiled well into the fall months making jellies, canning applesauce as well as pie fillings using heirloom apples from the expansive orchards on their farm. She had a lifelong love of oil painting and specialized in seascapes and horse paintings. Rachel leaves behind her husband, Harvey Wallingford; daughter, Christen Wallingford Kozlowski; son-in-law Christopher Kozlowski; grandsons, Dominic and Gabriel Kozlowski and her remaining siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Lillian Normand, as well as siblings. Rachel will be remembered for her kindness, her passionate involvement in her hobbies, and her unwavering support for her family.
