Colonel Robert “Pat” Patterson Andrews, M.D., of Rye, New Hampshire, passed away at Exeter Hospital in the early morning of June 29, 2024 at the age of 88. He was the son of George Robert Andrews of Sanford, Maine and Helen Brown Babcock of Cambridge, Massachusetts. He graduated from Thayer Academy in Braintree, Massachusetts and Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, where he earned an A.B. degree in Political Science. He then attended Tufts University School of Medicine, graduating with his M.D in 1963. Pat completed a rotating internship and a Radiology residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, before beginning his practice in Bangor, Maine in 1967. He was a founding member of Andrews Lynch & Field PA, which later merged to form Spectrum Medical Group in 1996. Pat practiced radiology for 33 years in Bangor and Dover-Foxcroft, retiring in 2000. Colonel Andrews had a distinguished military career, spanning 33 years of reserve obligation. He was a life member of the DAV of America, retiring as the State Air Surgeon of Maine and receiving several medals, including the Air Medal for his service. Pat is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 18 years, Debra A. Barrett Andrews. His children, Beth Andrews and partner Jeff Bennert of Cumberland, Maine, Amy Buzzi and husband Daniel of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, Jeff Andrews and wife Julie of Denver, Colorado, stepdaughter Kristin Barrett of Denver, Colorado, brother-in-law Bruce Harrison of Sanford, Maine, and former spouse Bunny Thibodeau Andrews of Presque Isle, Maine. Raymond Alvah Jellerson, 90, formerly of Sanford, died on July 9, 2024 after a brief illness. He was residing in Roanoke, Virginia. Ray Ray, as he was known to his wife Cecile of 64 years, or simply Ray to his many friends and acquaintances, was a loving husband, a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, and wonderful father to three loving sons, Steve, Jeff and Brett Jellerson. He was born in Sanford on January 6, 1934, one of five children to Alvah and Evelyn Jellerson. Ray left home to join the U.S. Navy in 1954 and became a Hospital Corpsman, beginning a career spanning 20 years of service. Ray returned to Sanford shortly after bootcamp and wooed the beautiful Cecile Petrin. Being smitten, he proposed marriage and they wed on May 28, 1955. Thus began a storybook romance, and a long life of travel and adventures together. Besides his career, Ray was an avid golfer and also loved woodworking and working around the house.

Brittany Adrien, 33, of Sanford, passed away on July 9, 2024. At this time there is no obituary. Visitation is on Tuesday, July 23 from 4-6 pm at JS Pelkey and Son, 125 Old Post Rd. Kittery, Maine. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the same location on Wednesday, July 24 at 1 pm.
Shirley E. Duprey, 97, of Springvale, died Thursday, June 6, 2024 in Sanford. She was born May 2, 1927 in Kennebunk, the daughter of Frank and Rachel (Clark) Moulton. She attended Kennebunk Schools and early on worked for Aleta Dress, Converse Rubber and Kessler Shoe. She eventually worked for Sprague Electric as a machine welder, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed crafts, including crocheting, knitting and quilting. She is survived by her son, Thomas Duprey of Springvale; her daughter, Carol Ann Roux of Sanford; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
