Lydia Jean Ashline 17, of Sanford, beloved daughter of Hayden Sevey and Nicole Ashline died on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, following a tragic automobile accident in Rochester, NH. She grew up in Sanford where she was a spirited senior at Sanford High School, where she left an indelible mark on the hearts of her peers and teachers. She loved her friends and teachers and was always very active in Peer Helpers there. She was eagerly anticipating a role as a camp counselor next summer. Lydia’s enthusiasm for life was contagious. An avid animal lover, Lydia found solace and joy in the company of her beloved cats, Smores and Vanilla, and her bearded dragon, Pikachu. Lydia was a multifaceted individual with a passion for photography, a gift for poetry, a prolific writer and a love for attending concerts. Her strength of character, independence, and empowered spirit set her apart. She consistently prioritized the needs of others, embodying kindness, love, and generosity. Beside her parents she leaves behind a large family and many friends. Lydia’s celebration of life and memorial service was held on Saturday, November 25. Joyce H. Moore 88, of Sanford, died on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Summer Commons nursing home in Sanford. She was born on September 29, 1935, to Bernard and Marjorie (Mosher) Herrick in Eau Claire WI and grew up in Melrose MA. She attended Melrose High school, and after graduating, she went to nursing school. She married Roger W. Moore on November 27, 1957, and together they raised three children Janet, Paul and Laurel. She loved older people and worked as a nurse at various nursing homes/assisted living facilities. She also worked as a school nurse for several years, which was probably her favorite position. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her daughter Janet Cloutier and husband Mark, of DE, her son Paul Moore of Nashua NH, her daughter Laurel Chalmers and husband Kerry of Sanford and grand and great-grandchildren. Laurette Johnson 88, of Sanford, died on November 17, 2023. She was born on February 12,1935 in Brunswick, Maine to George and Cecile (Page) Hains. She grew up in Lewiston and attended Edward Little High School. Laurette was a devoted mother and homemaker raising her four children Cindy, Alan, Janet and Thomas with her husband John. Laurette and her husband built their own home and enjoyed hunting, traveling and family gatherings. Surviving are her children and their spouses, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Calling hours were held on Monday, November 27 at Bibber Memorial Chapel at Autumn Green in Alfred, with graveside services at the Highland Grove Cemetery in Shapleigh the following day.
