Middle School Not Ready to Open

Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson announced Wednesday that the converted Sanford Middle School will not be ready to open on September 14 as planned. Instead, students in grades 5-8 will start the school year in full distance learning mode for two weeks, with in-person education now scheduled to begin September 28. Preliminary Approval For Spencer Hill Estates

At their meeting on August 19, Sanford Planning Board members gave preliminary approval to a new subdivision to be built at the intersection of Jagger Mill Road and Spencer Hill Road. The project includes nine single-family homes, plus an eight acre back lot which may be sold or developed at a later date. The property is being developed by Adam Blaikie and Associates, and is located within the Residential Development Zone. The subdivision plans call for one home to be…

School Reopening Notes

As of this writing, Sanford schools are still expected to open under the hybrid model approved by the School Committee on August 17. The opening of school schedule is here.
