The latest Covid-19 numbers for Sanford and Springvale are now available, with data as of January 10. Since last week's update, there have been 147 new cases of Covid-19 in our community, with 108 in Sanford and 39 in Springvale. This is another new record, though not one we want to celebrate. City Moves Quickly to Address Jagger Mill Hazard

The City of Sanford has moved quickly to address the danger posed by the old Jagger Mill building, which partially collapsed after a storm in early December. The City's Land Bank Authority has been attempting to work with the owners to address issues with the property since 2018. The property taxes have not been paid since that year. Proposed Zoning Change Clarifies Mental Health Services

A proposed change to Sanford's zoning ordinance adds a new Land Use category for Mental Health Practitioners. A Mental Health Practitioner is defined as one which provides diagnosis and treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders and/or the diagnosis and treatment of individual or group social dysfunction brought about by such causes as mental illness, alcohol and substance abuse, physical and emotional trauma, or stress.
