Submit Questions for Candidates Night

Sanford Candidates Night is scheduled for October 1. Candidates for Mayor, City Council, School Committee, State Representative, State Senator and County Commissioner are being invited to participate. The event will be live streamed by WSSR-TV from the Performing Arts Center, and recorded for later viewing. Do you have a question you'd love to ask a candidate? Share your questions with the moderators for their consideration via this submission form. Ideas must be submitted by 4:00 pm on September 25.

If you’ve noticed that parking spaces at the intersection of Main and Washington Streets have disappeared, Public Works Director Matthew Hill reports that is because they weren’t strictly legal to be there, due to proximity to the intersection. There are still several spaces available between the intersection and Roberts Street. More Sanford Outbreaks, More Sanford Cases

At his press briefing on Thursday, September 17, Dr. Nirav Shah of Maine CDC announced a new outbreak of three cases of Covid-19 at The Baker Company, a medical equipment manufacturer located in South Sanford behind the Airport. Additionally, an outbreak of 18 cases at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard includes seven Sanford residents who work at the Shipyard and commuted together. New Flight School Opening at Airport

A new flight school, BDF Air, is coming to the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport. The school will offer training and certification to pilots who want to fly multi-engine aircraft. The company’s Beechcraft Duchess plane will be housed in the former city hangar. Airport Manager Allison Navia told the City Council’s Property Subcommittee on Tuesday that BDF Air will fit in well with the Airport’s other offerings.
