Covid-19 Update: November 8

The Sanford School Department announced on November 5 that an individual associated with Margaret Chase Smith School recently tested positive for COVID-19. The current hybrid model of education helped limit any contact this individual had with others so very few staff and students were exposed. Those at risk have already been identified and contacted by a CDC or school representative and are quarantining. We will update tomorrow if any more positive test results are announced. The Depot in Springvale is now selling non-ethanol gas at a few of its pumps. The Salvation Army is partnering with Walmart for their annual Angel Tree Registry, which provides new clothing and toys to more than one million children and families in need each year. Biden, Collins win Sanford/Springvale vote

Sanford and Springvale voters chose Joseph Biden by a slim margin over Donald Trump in Tuesday's election. The ultimate winner of that race has not yet been determined. Susan Collins had a larger level of support over Sara Gideon, and Ms. Gideon has conceded in that race.
