City Attorneys File For Dismissal of Lanigan Case

Attorneys for the City of Sanford have filed documents with the Superior Court in response to a lawsuit brought by City Councilor Lucas Lanigan regarding his temporary removal from subcommittee assignments by Mayor Anne-Marie Mastraccio. Nicole Chapa, an 8th grade Sanford Middle School student, organized an opportunity for the SMS JMG students to partner with Tara Pierce of Sole Hope to help Ugandans in need. Students worked to create parts of denim shoes that prevent jigger infections in the feet of villagers. On Friday, March 19, a 44-year-old Winter St. resident was taken into custody on charges of domestic violence assault with priors, violating conditions of release, and assault. Saturday, Sanford Police arrested a 36-year-old Lyman resident for assault after a call to a Jackson St. address.
