The Nasson Community Center gym is being remodeled with a new floor, new bleachers and new rear doors. The logo from the old floor, painted by Dr. Henry Richmond Neuville in 1935, was cut out and saved. Winterfest! February 13-19

Sanford Parks and Recreation have a full week of activities planned (snow and ice permitting!) to celebrate winter and keep the kids busy. City Council Meeting Summary: February 2, 2021

Councilor Ayn Hanselmann led the pledge of allegiance. Subcommittee reports: Councilor Robert Stackpole gave a report on last week’s Zoning Subcommittee meeting. The Subcommittee spent quite a bit of time discussing how to proceed with the issue of retail recreational marijuana sales in Sanford. It is currently not an allowed use in any zone. Councilor Lanigan Removed From Subcommittees due to Facebook Post

At the City Council’s meeting on February 2, Mayor Anne-Marie Mastraccio stripped Councilor Lucas Lanigan of his three subcommittee assignments after receiving a number of letters and emails complaining about a post he made on his personal Facebook page. In the post, which has since been deleted, he wrote “Communities have local budget control over schools. No kids in school!
