"Celtic Voyage," a web series being produced by Starry Universe Productions, will hold auditions for actors at the lower gazebo in Gowen Park on Tuesday, April 6 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. The paranormal horror series is rated TV-14 for mild language, action sequences, and non-profane adult situations containing no explicit content or vulgarity, with a target audience of ages 14-24. Covid & Vaccine Update: April 1

There were 30 new cases of Covid-19 diagnosed in Sanford in the 7-day period ending March 28, and 8 more in Springvale, for a total of 38 new cases in our community this week. This is down from last week’s spike of 53 cases, but is still higher than the numbers for the previous several weeks. The combined cumulative total of cases in Sanford/Springvale now stands at 1,431. The Nasson Community Center gym floor is done and it is beautiful! The community also stepped up with donations to purchase 30 new basketballs for the gym, which is now open again for basketball, pickleball and other activities. City Attorneys File For Dismissal of Lanigan Case

Attorneys for the City of Sanford have filed documents with the Superior Court in response to a lawsuit brought by City Councilor Lucas Lanigan regarding his temporary removal from subcommittee assignments by Mayor Anne-Marie Mastraccio. Mayor Mastraccio took the action at the February 2 City Council meeting, followimg complaints about a post on Councilor Lanigan’s personal Facebook page, in which he appeared to be calling for the elimination of the school budget as well as the teachers’ union.
