Sanford firefighters past and present gathered to celebrate the life of George Driscoll, retired Chief of the Sanford Fire Department, following his funeral on June 19. He became a firefighter in 1961, Chief in 1970, and retired from the Department in 1982. He was also a devoted member of St. George’s Episcopal Church. He passed away on June 12 at the age of 92. Independence Day Festivities

Although there will be no 4th of July parade this year due to Covid, plans are in place for Independence Day festivities at Number One Pond on Saturday, July 3.
