Community Support from the Aubuchon Foundation

Press Release The Aubuchon Foundation of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts awarded the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale a grant of $2,200. This donation was part of the “WEAre The Difference” campaign from the W.E. Aubuchon Company. Troy Richard, Sanford Aubuchon manager and Sanford-Springvale Rotarian initiated the request for the grant.  The Aubuchon Foundation, the charitable arm of the 102-store W.E. Municipal Operations and Property Midtown Mall parking: Mayor Anne-Marie Mastraccio, Deputy Mayor Maura Herlihy and Councilor Becky Brink got an update on the Midtown Mall parking improvements from Community Development Director Ian Houseal. The walkway has been completed and the benches are in place, but the lighting for the walkway cannot be completed until spring as the new light fixture poles are on backorder. Renaming of Duplicate Streets to Start with Sherburne St.

The City plans to begin addressing problems caused by streets in Sanford and Springvale that have duplicate or very similar names, starting with Sherburne St. Code Enforcement Officer Jamie Cole told the Municipal Operations and Property Subcommittee on January 11 that a lot split on Sherburne St. in Sanford is creating two new dwelling units, and since the house numbering was done improperly last time, the entire street will have to be renumbered. Recreational Cannabis Stores May Be Coming to Sanford

Could pot shops be coming soon to a location near you? The answer is, it depends where you live in Sanford. Early last year, the City Council’s Zoning Subcommittee spent several months discussing the issue of retail sales of adult-use (i.e. recreational) cannabis, also known as marijuana.
