Police Log Digest: December 5-11, 2021

On Sunday, December 5, a 39-year-old resident of Portsmouth, NH, was arrested at a Main St. address in Springvale, on a charge of domestic violence assault. Among other calls that day were a report of shoplifting on Main St., and vandalism on Shaw St. Monday, December 6, following a disturbance on Main St., a 48-year-old Sanford resident was taking into custody by Sanford officers for aggravated assault. Deteriorating Bridge Downgraded by Maine DOT

The Maine Department of Transportation has reduced the weight limit on Hay Brook Bridge, which crosses Hay Brook at the Sanford/Alfred Line on Bernier Rd., to ten tons following a recent inspection. The bridge has been deteriorating for several years, according to Sanford city officials. 2021 Holiday Hours for City Services, Groceries & Health Care

City Services All City of Sanford offices, and the Sanford Water District office, will be closed Friday, December 24, and Friday, December 31. Trash and recycling will be picked up on the usual days through the holidays.
