Sherburne St. in Sanford will soon be renamed Tanguay St., in honor of Leon Tanguay, a lifelong resident of Sanford who has lived on the street since 1947 and raised his family there. Mr. Tanguay is a World War II veteran who retired from a career as a stonemason at age 85. He will be 98 years old next month. School Committee March 7 Meeting Summary

The Sanford School Committee met March 7, 2022. The start of the meeting was delayed due to a student hearing held prior during executive session. All members were present. Communications Chair Paula Cote said an email was received from Sarah Ouellette, who wrote that she would like to have face masks be optional in schools.
