Sherburne St. in Sanford will soon be renamed Tanguay St., in honor of Leon Tanguay, a lifelong resident of Sanford who has lived on the street since 1947 and raised his family there. Mr. Tanguay is a World War II veteran who retired from a career as a stonemason at age 85. He will be 98 years old next month. You may not have noticed it, tucked away near the corner of the Midtown Mall parking lot next to Aroma Joe’s, but a new retail shop has opened in Sanford to serve the crafting community.
