The filing period for Sanford local elections ended yesterday. Here is the final list of candidates. Mayor: City Councilor Becky Brink will be the sole candidate on the ballot. Mayor Anne-Marie Mastraccio is not seeking reelection. (Lance Hoenig and Bradford Littlefield both took out papers, but did not submit them.) At the September 6, 2022 City Council meeting, Public Works Director Matt Hill made a presentation on the projects that will be constructed through the $25 million RAISE Grant that Sanford was recently awarded by the US Department of Transportation, with additional funding coming from MaineDOT and the City of Sanford. Memorial Gym Back in City Hands

At its meeting on September 6, 2022, the City Council voted to accept the return of the Veterans Memorial Gymnasium to the care, custody and control of the City for non-school use.
