Tryouts have been scheduled for Sanford Recreation Spartans travel basketball.  Tryouts are free, and will be held at the Nasson Gym on Oct 13 and Oct 14. If selected for the team, the cost is $175 for the season. Each player is only required to attend one of the tryout sessions for their age bracket, but are welcome to attend both. Please pre-register by sending an email to sanfordspartansyouthbasketball@gmail.com

  • 6-7pm – 5th/6th grade girls, 5th grade boys
  • 7-8pm – 6th grade boys, 7th grade boys
  • 8-9pm – 7th/8th grade girls, 8th grade boys

The Kids Free to Grow diaper drive continues through September 30. If you can donate diapers, drop them off at the Sanford-Springvale YMCA, Springvale Library or Little World 2 Child Care.

Register now for the Sanford-Springvale YMCA‘s Spooky Sprint 5k on October 30! Sanford’s favorite costume run is back! Pull out your favorite costume and join them for a fun community day at the YMCA! Free T-shirt for the first 50 registrants. Southern Maine Health Care’s Walk-In Care Center on June St. continues to experience high patient volumes. If you need to be seen, it is recommended that you call 490-7900 first to determine the approximate wait time.

Sanford Christian Academy will be holding its 8th annual Christmas Craft and Vendor Fair on November 13. Interested vendors please contact events@scamaine.org.
