October Rabies Clinics: Maine State Law requires all dogs and cats to be vaccinated against rabies. In Sanford, there are rabies clinics October 16 at Tractor Supply from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.; and October 24 at Loyal Companion from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. The cost ranges from $30 to $49. Other vaccination/parasite control services are available. There will also be a FREE rabies clinic (donations encouraged) at the Town Hall in Lyman, which located at 11 S. Waterboro Rd., from 9:00 a.m. – noon on October 22. Sanford residents are welcome.
Caps for Care: Attention knitters! Want to keep busy and help an awesome cause? Caps for Care needs warm hats for cancer patients. Hats may be dropped off at the Trafton Center. Dance the Night Away: Save the date for the return of the Harvest Dance to benefit York County Shelter Programs’ Thanksgiving Basket Program. The 13th Annual Harvest Dance will be held Friday, November 4 at the Sanford Elks Lodge, 13 Elm St., with music by DJ Gratitude. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door or by calling YCSP staff members Scott Davis (207-502-0520), Stacy Irving (207-651-5538) or Bonnie Leslie (207-324-1137 x109). Bring a non-perishable food item to be eligible for drawings. There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
