The Sanford Water District flushes its water mains twice a year to clear any build up of iron in the mains. The flushing is done between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. to minimize any inconvenience caused by off color water. The fall flushing begins tonight, and will continue into November. When your neighborhood is scheduled for flushing, it will be listed on this page.
The Water District also announced this week that their water supply, which comes from large underground aquifers, is in good shape despite the drought, and that customers should feel free to utilize water as normal. No restrictions are in place and none are anticipated.
Another Chance Animal Rescue is in desperate need of non-clumping cat litter. If you prefer to buy from Amazon or Chewy, their address is ACAR, 251 Country Club Road, Sanford, ME 04073.
