All the entries in the Halloween Art Contest are now on display at City Hall. The winning entries will be selected by members of the Rotary Club. Winners will be announced Thursday, October 28.
We don’t have details yet, but the maps for both the Halloween Yard Decorating Contest and the Selfies with Sanford Scarecrows Contest should be available soon. The great prizes for the best Selfies will also be announced shortly.
Kids can Trick or Treat at the Goodall Library on Friday, October 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wear a costume, get candy, and paint a Halloween ornament!
There’s still time to sign up for the YMCA’s Spooky Sprint 5K Family Fun Run/Walk, scheduled for Saturday, October 30. Call 324-4942, stop by the Y or register online at http://sanfordymca.org/.

If you prefer an alternative to Halloween celebrations, Mercy Chapel is hosting a Harvest Party on Saturday, October 30 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 1861 Main St. There will be games, activities, prizes, fellowship and fun.
On Saturday, October 30, Sanford High School will host the Maine Band Directors Association (MBDA) State Marching Band Finals at Alumni Stadium starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be ten bands in attendance from across Maine and New Hampshire. Sanford takes the field at 5:30pm. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students or senior citizens. There is a $30 max for families of 4. Sanford’s show is entitled “Still We Rise” and features works from Hamilton, Andra Day, and Stevie Wonder. Our marching band will be led by drum major Mason Nguyen.

Sanford Community Adult Education is looking for exciting new enrichment offerings from our community. Do you have a talent or skill and would like to share it with others and make a little extra spending money? Can you teach something along the lines of exercise, art, self-help, or organization?
