The Spartans Varsity Football team had all the right moves at the Homecoming game on Friday night, besting the Red Eddies of Edward Little High School by a score of 48-8. See some of the highlights from WMTW here: https://www.facebook.com/TravisLeeWMTW/videos/653044982801165/.
Before the game, the late Richard Wilkins was remembered on the field with a moment of silence as players held the plaque that is now gracing the gymnasium at Margaret Chase Smith School, dedicated in his honor. Rich was a 1981 graduate of Sanford High and taught at Sanford High School as well as Margaret Chase Smith School for over 32 years. During his tenure, he also coached baseball and football, and he was an inspiring figure in the lives of countless students and athletes, including many of the Sanford players on the field tonight. Also in attendance was his wife Christine; his daughter Autumn; her husband Josh; and Rich’s twin brother Robert. Photo by Amy Sevigny.
