Sanford Maine Stage is having an open casting call June 17 and 18 for its production of Shakespeare From the Park: Romeo and Juliet. If you’d like to try out, arrive at Gowen Park at 5:45 p.m. either day and sign in. Bring a blanket, beach towel or lawn chair with you, and dress comfortably. LARPing is back! The Live Action Role Players group will meet every Saturday in Gowen Park from noon to 3:00 p.m. Bring your foam sword and have some fun.
The Transfer Station will be closed Wednesday, June 9, from 7:30 a.m. to noon for required training.
Railroad Ave. is closed to all but local traffic while the Sanford Water District is doing some upgrades, prior to road reconstruction. If you need to get to a business located there, talk to the crew onsite and they will make sure you get through safely. Road work is scheduled to begin the first week of July.
There’s just a few days left to sign up for the fall season of Sanford Soccer. You can register your little kicker online here or go to Shaw Field on June 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., or June 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to register in person.

Mad Science: Engineering Mania Workshop is for kids in grades 3-6. This three-day program will be held in the Art classroom at Carl J. Lamb School June 29 and 30, and July 2. The cost is $230.
