School budget referendum: The school budget for the 2023-24 school year will be up for voters’ approval on Tuesday, June 13. The budget has been proposed by the School Committee and approved by the City Council. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. A budget document is available at the school department’s website, sanford.org. Look for Sanford School News. 

Chipping in for good causes: On Friday June 23, the Kiwanis Club of Sanford and the Sanford-Springvale Rotary Club will hold their 12th annual Chip in FORE Charity Golf Tournament at Province Lake golf course in Parsonsfield. Registration is $120 per person and includes golf, cart, and lunch. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:00. Money raised through this event supports the many charitable activities of the two service clubs, including scholarships for local high school students, literacy programs, food pantries, the Sanford backpack program, and the Sanford City Trails system.
