The Stories Quilts Tell program at Springvale Library has unfortunately been cancelled, but instead the Library will present Quilts From Kuwait to Kenya and Around the World with Paramjeet Bawa at 5:30 p.m. on April 20. Paramajeet has been sharing her passion for creativity and quilting across the world. Her quilts have won international awards, including an honorable mention at the Houston Quilt Show (the Oscars of quilting) for her creation “Dust Storm.” Visit her website to learn more about her.
Ready for that new 5K personal record or want to test your skills at your first ever 5K race? The Sanford Mainers are proud to present the First Annual Airport 5K walk/run event on August 20. With a cool and unique course that takes place right on the grounds of the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport! Registration is now live here! Be sure to claim your spot early as the first 100 registrants will receive a free race t-shirt, with the registration fee also increasing on June 1st. All registrants will receive a free beer ticket to be redeemed at Pilot’s Cove Café after the race. You can also join in on fun at the Sanford Airport Brew Fest at Pilot’s Cove Café set for 2pm, sponsored by Eldredge Lumber and the Sanford/Springvale Chamber of Commerce! Plant lovers, mark your calendars for the FREE Community Plant Exchange on May 21, Saturday, [RAIN DATE MAY 28] from 9:00 a.m. until noon in the parking lot of the Sanford Elks Club and the Trafton Senior Center located at 13 & 19 Elm St. Plant Drop off is from 9:00 to 10:30. The exchange starts at 10:30 with first arrivals having the first choice. All plants must go before noon! Bring your extra plant divisions, seeds, seedlings, cuttings, and house plants.
