Sanford man arrested, charged with burglary, theft, drug possession, and more: The Scarborough Police Department arrested David Allan, 52, of Sanford, on Aug. 26 on charges related to burglaries through forced entry at two Scarborough businesses that occurred early that morning. Working with the South Portland Police, Scarborough investigators found a vehicle in South Portland that Allan had allegedly stolen in Sanford on the night of Aug. 25. He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland and charged with two counts each of burglary, theft and criminal mischief and one count each of unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving without a license, unlawfully possessing fentanyl, and possessing burglary tools. He also had three outstanding warrants. Allan was arraigned on Aug. 28. Police departments in Portland, Biddeford, and Sanford also helped with the case.
