Join the Friends of Downtown for a fun night out on Friday, July 29, 2022, when Main St. will be closed from Washington St. to Winter St. so that classic cars (1997 or older) can line the streets for the Cruising with Friends Classic Car Show! There will be a food and beverage court at the Midtown Mall featuring local restaurants, including Above & Beyond Catering’s famous “Gin Tin,” Richie’s BBQ, Mee-D Thai, Tropical Caribbean and Frannie’s. Jack from Sanford Sound will have music going and you get to help pick the People’s Choice Award by voting for your favorite car! The event will kick off with a motorcade beginning at 4:45, then cars will be parked downtown from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a 50/50 and other raffle prizes to make it even more fun. Have a car you want to include in the event? Registration begins at 4:00 p.m. at Sanford Pride Elementary School, 708 Main St., and is free! Cruising with Friends is being made possible by the sponsorship of several local businesses, including Garnsey Brothers Insurance and Partners Bank.
