Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery will hold its Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 30. Master of Ceremonies Dick Langlais will introduce Chaplain Rob Martin for the opening prayer at 1:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The St. Thomas School choir will sing the National Anthem. Invited guests and Association members will be introduced.
Governor Janet Mills will be the first speaker, followed by Mayor Anne-Marie Mastraccio. The keynote speaker will be US Coast Guard Commander Luann Kehlenbach.
Pipers Al Halliday and Bill Ferrigno will perform Amazing Grace. World War II veterans Leon Tanguay and Don Littlefield will lay the memorial wreath. VFW Post 9935 will provide the Honor Guard.
Laura Latinski will play Taps, followed by Chaplain Martin’s closing prayer.
All are welcome. The Cemetery is located at 83 Stanley Rd. in Springvale. This event is rain or shine.
