Sanford won their fourth game in a row on Wednesday, July 19th, behind a two-run double in the sixth inning from Eddie Eisert as the Mainers beat the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks, 4-2, at Goodall Park. Bryce Afthim allowed just one run on four hits while striking out three over six innings to earn the win on the mound.
The Mainers beat the Keene Swamp Bats twice in three days. On Saturday, July 15th, Sanford shut out Keene, 10-0, as Nick Roselli hit a three-run home run in the first inning. Ryan Dee pitched five shutout innings to get the win. Then on Tuesday, July 18th, Sanford exploded for five runs in the sixth to earn a 6-2 win.
As of July 20th, the Mainers were in second place in the North Division of the NECBL with an 18-15 record.
