Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. If you haven’t had a chance to vote early, there is still time, or you can cast your vote at the polls on Election Day.
You may request an absentee ballot without a reason until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30. However, if you have already received your absentee ballot, you can deposit it in the drop box behind City Hall any time until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. The drop box is emptied frequently, and is monitored 24 hours a day by a security camera.
City Hall will also be open on Saturday, October 31, from 9:00 a.m. until noon, but not for early voting, as they will be busy processing ballots. You can, however, register to vote at City Hall on Monday, November 2 or Tuesday, November 3. The City Clerk’s office will be open for election-related business ONLY on Election Day.
If you plan to vote in person on Election Day, the polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Ward 1 votes at Nasson Community Center Gym in Springvale; Ward 2 votes at St. Ignatius Hall on Riverside Ave.; Ward 3 votes at Sanford High School / SRTC (use door #41). If you aren’t sure what ward you are in, see this list.
Want to be prepared before you go vote? Links to sample ballots are on this page.
If you are planning on campaigning for your favorite candidate on Election Day, be aware that there are buffer zones around each polling place. See the political activity restriction maps here.
