The Sanford Police Department will host National Night Out in Central Park on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 5 to 7 pm. This annual event has been held for over 15 years, bringing community partners and citizens together to collaborate and celebrate with food, drink and ice cream prepared by Sanford police officers.
Enjoy free hot dogs and hamburgers fresh off the grill, listen to music by DJ Jack Bogard of Sanford Sound, and try your aim at the dunk tank. Fire trucks, the EMA command vehicle, and a heavy wrecker from Chandler’s Automotive will be stationed alongside the park for kids to check out. Local organizations including Sanford Housing Authority, Maine Behavioral Health, Maine OPTIONS, Elks, Kiwanis, EcoMaine and Caring Unlimited will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
The event will be held rain or shine. Please note School Street will be blocked off from Washington to Bodwell from 4 to 8 pm to keep everyone safe.
