It’s that time of year when the York County Shelter Programs’ Food Pantry is starting its Thanksgiving Basket Program. The program provides community members in need with a full Thanksgiving dinner.
YCSP is holding its 11th Annual Harvest Thanksgiving Benefit and Food Drive on Sunday, November 8th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the parking lot of the Sanford Elks Lodge at 13 Elm Street in Sanford. Donations of non-perishable food items will be welcomed. All donors will be entered in the drawings held throughout the day. There will also be door prizes.
For more information, contact YCSP Food Service Director Scott Davis at (207) 502-0520, scottd@ycspi.org or Food Pantry Coordinator Mike Ouellette at (207) 391-3125, mikeo@ycspi.org.
Last year YCSP gave out 920 boxes, which included a turkey and all of the fixings. YCSP expects the need will greater this year, due to the economic hardships caused by the pandemic.
Donations of non-perishable food or funds to help YCSP purchase items are also appreciated anytime over the next few weeks. Contact Mike Ouellette for more information about making a donation.
