The Sanford Springvale Call Firefighters will hold a memorial ceremony October 16, 2022 to remember fallen members from Sanford and other local Fire Departments. The public is cordially invited to attend.
Departments will stage on Alumni Blvd. leading to Sanford High School at 12:30 p.m., and firefighters in uniform will proceed to the monument near the SRTC Fire Science wing at 12:45. The Chaplain of the Shapleigh Fire Department will lead a short service beginning at 1:00 p.m. There will be light refreshments afterward.
The memorial ceremony was an annual event held at the Sanford Fire Department but got off track over the past few years due to the pandemic. The families of fallen firefighters were always honored to be present. This year the Call Firefighters plan to bring this memorial back into prominence as an annual event in our community.
