In February, the Sanford Police Department received 2,995 calls for service, covering a range of incidents:

  • Burglary (including motor vehicle): 10
  • Theft: 36
  • Assaults: 13
  • Sex Offenses: 2
  • Scams: 12
  • Domestic Disturbances: 19
  • Disturbances: 62
  • 911 Hang-ups/Misdials: 76
  • Animal Complaints: 78
  • Mental Health Support Calls: 63

Arrests and summonses in February include:

  • February 1: Police served a warrant and arrested a 43-year-old man from Sanford on Main St.
  • February 2: A motor vehicle stop at the corner of Grove and Main St. led to a summons for a 41-year-old man from Alfred. The individual was charged with “OAS with Prior Suspension. Not OUI Warrant.”
  • February 4: A disturbance call on Main St. led to the arrest of a 59-year-old man from Sanford. He was charged with “Criminal Trespassing with a Dangerous Weapon.”
  • February 5: An animal complaint on Grammar Rd. led to the arrest of a 43-year-old woman from Sanford. She was charged with “Failure to provide necessary medical attention. Failure to provide proper shelter and humane conditions. Cruelty to animals.”
  • February 7: Police served a warrant and arrested a 28-year-old man from Sanford on Dudley St.
  • February 11: A report of shoplifting led to the arrest of a 34-year-old woman from Sanford. She was charged with “Theft By Unauthorized Taking Or Transfer.”
  • February 13: A 53-year-old woman was charged with “Operating Under the Influence” after a motor vehicle accident caused property damage.
  • February 18: A 25-year-old from East Waterboro was arrested on Country Club Rd. following a motor vehicle stop. He was charged with “Operating Under The Influence and Violating Condition Of Release.”
  • February 20: A motor vehicle stop on Breton Ave. led to a summons being issued to a 34-year-old man from Sanford. He was charged with “Attaching False Plates.” The stop also led to the arrest of a 30-year-old from Sanford whose charges are “Warrant and Fugitive from Justice.”
  • February 23: A 48-year-old woman from Sanford was charged with “Theft By Receiving Stolen Property” following a motor vehicle stop on Swetts Bridge Rd.
