On a glorious late summer evening, Sanford’s Central Park was filled with over 100 attendees for a free community event concert performed and organized by local up-and-coming musical
artist Justin Toussaint. With a drone flying overhead, Justin encouraged the crowd to participate in the filming of a music video. The encouraging crowd offered warm applause throughout the 8-song performance which included an intermission with a cornhole challenge with the artist himself.
Justin introduced each song with personal stories and gave inspirational messages of positivity and togetherness telling the gatherers, “Let’s give our community our full energy here together this evening.” Concert goers were lively and having fun playing frisbee, doing gymnastics and bubble chasing while others danced and laughed.
This free community-building event was generously sponsored by many area businesses. Kona Ice, known for their strong community support and popular cool treats, happily gave out 50 free snow cones. Frannie’s Mini Donuts offered free donuts and drinks for another tasty treat. Sanford Sound, Vetted Dispensary, Copy Kat’s, Fat Boy and Karen’s Dinner were other sponsors. Four raffle baskets helped support this lively musical community concert. At the end of the two-hour show, the joy-filled patrons were thanked by Justin and reminded to “give as much as you receive.”
