St. George’s Semi-Annual 50 Cent Clothing Sale, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 3 Emerson St. They will have a large selection of clothing and accessories for all genders and ages. Proceeds from the clothing sale go to support the Church’s ministries both within the church and in the community.
9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, 9:30 a.m., Sanford Regional Technical Center Fire Service Wing, 100 Alumni Blvd. The Sanford/Springvale Call Firefighters, Inc. are hosting this 20th anniversary remembrance ceremony. David Shain, who was at Ground Zero that day, will be the guest speaker. A separate ceremony, beginning about 10:30 a.m. will be the dedication of the Fire Science Wing, including a monument to all members past and present of the Sanford/Springvale Call Firefighters and Ladies Auxiliary. The EMS training room will be dedicated in the name of Chaplain Nelson Elliot, the fire science lab in the name of Assistant Chief Keith Goodrich and the second floor training room in the name of career Captain Richard Levesque. The event will conclude with a tour of the facility.

Jennifer Hazard, author of The Maine Play Book: A Four-Season Guide to Family Fun and Adventure, will discuss some of her favorite spaces in the area and answer questions. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Afterwards, stay for brick oven pizza and drinks from the bistro and bar.
19th Masonic District’s End of Summer Family Outing, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Holdsworth Park, 278 Main St., Springvale. Featuring a cookout, a cornhole tournament, horseshoes, etc. Bring along a kayak or canoe. All are invited, but a $5 donation is requested.
