Monday, February 20

Presidents Day, all City offices, both libraries, and the Sanford Food Pantry will be closed. Schools will be closed all week. Trash and recycling will be picked up as usual.

Tuesday, February 21

The Transfer Station will be closed.

City Council, 6:00 pm, City Hall Council Chambers and via Zoom. The agenda includes a presentation of the annual report from the Trails Committee, a presentation on the conceptual aesthetic redesign of the roundabout in South Sanford, and other items.

Narcan and Maine OPTIONS, Sanford Police Department, 935 Main St. Join the SPD and their Sweetser OPTIONS clinician, Lacey Bailey, for a presentation on the Maine OPTIONS program, and learn how to obtain and utilize Narcan to save a life in the event of an opioid overdose. Wednesday, February 22

Wheels Fun, 12:30 to 2:00 pm, Veterans Memorial Gym, 678 Main St. Free to all. Bring big-wheels, scooters, skateboards, hoverboards, roller blades, bikes, skates, etc. All ages are welcome, but parents must stay if their child is in 3rd grade or younger. Thursday, February 23

Magician Show, 10:00 am, Carl J. Lamb School, 233 Shaw’s Ridge Rd. Free and open to all Sanford families, sponsored by Sanford Recreation.

Open Gym, 1:00 to 3:00 pm, Veterans Memorial Gym, 678 Main St. Basketball/mats/wheels/jump rope/hoops, supervised and organized by Sanford Recreation staff. 

Friday, February 24

Public Haddock Dinner, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, St. Thomas School, 69 North Ave. $15 for adults, $10 for children under 12. For more info, call Ray at 207-651-6636.

Saturday, February 25

Baby Blessings, 10:00 am to noon, St. George’s Episcopal Church, 3 Emerson St. Free emergency assistance to parents who need help obtaining baby necessities. Diapers, wipes, and occasional other items may be available. Proof of residence or income is not required.

Author Visit: Gerry Boyle, 2:00 pm, Goodall Library, 952 Main St. Mystery fans, enjoy a presentation by Maine author Gerry Boyle as he discusses the latest book in his Jack Morrow series, Robbed Blind. Refreshments will be available.

Murder On The Menu by Bill Hand, 5:00 pm, North Parish Church Vestry, 893 Main St. Murdery mystery dinner show by the North Parish Players. Meet the cast at 5:00 pm, enjoy dinner at 5:30, show starts at 6:00. Tickets $12, call 207-324-3163 or email northparish@metrocast.net by February 20 to make your reservation.
