Jordan Bissonnette ran for three touchdowns, and the Spartans scored 28 unanswered points after trailing 17-13 at halftime. Sanford took the lead for good when Tyler Pitman caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Tanner McCann to make it 20-17. Sanford Mainers Player Wins NECBL Batting Title

By Sam Bosney Catcher and first baseman Logan Poteet of the Sanford Mainers won the 2023 New England Collegiate Baseball League batting title. Poteet hit .347 in 101 at-bats this season (35 hits). He also led the Mainers in RBI (25) and was second in home runs (3).  The Mainers went 24-19 this season and finished second in the North Division.

Schneider-Smith, who now runs professionally in Flagstaff, Arizona, won the 30-34 age group in a time of 34 minutes and nine seconds. She finished 12th in the women’s race and 77th overall.
