It’s Summer Splash Time This Sunday!

Independence Day Festivities

Although there will be no 4th of July parade this year due to Covid, plans are in place for Independence Day festivities at Number One Pond on Saturday, July 3. Never Alone: Sanford Veteran Laid To Rest

When Sanford resident Richard Burgess passed away in April, it was discovered that he had no family to bury him. But, as a U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Burgess had an extended family of veterans and supporters ready and willing to step in to give him a proper sendoff. Memorial Day Schedule

On Monday, May 31, the Sanford Veterans Memorial Committee will be placing wreaths at cemeteries and memorials around the city. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The Committee will begin at Central Park at 8:00 a.m. and be at each successive stop about 15 minutes later, so the Riverside ceremony will take place at approximately 9:00 and Number One Pond at about 9:45.
