The Sanford Backpack Program’s Boxes of Joy campaign is well underway, but it’s not too late to get involved. Caring Unlimited Wins Competitive Grant for Youth Violence Prevention

U.S. Attorney Darcie N. McElwee announced October 30 that Caring Unlimited, York County’s domestic violence resource center based in Sanford, was recently awarded a $497,000 three-year grant from the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Consolidated Youth Program. Caring Unlimited’s program was one of only 16 projects selected nationally to receive such a grant. Former Lavalley Lumber Property is Now Sanford Community Forest

Press Release Three Rivers Land Trust is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of its latest preserve: the Sanford Community Forest. The public fundraising campaign was announced in early 2021, and through successful grants and extraordinary generosity from local donors, Three Rivers was able to purchase nearly 550 acres in late September. With the school season back under way, the Sanford Mainers were pleased to partner with former Mainers outfielder Cam Ridley and his charitable organization, The Cam Cares Children’s Foundation to help local school children in need. Ridley’s organization donated several backpacks with basic school necessities to the Mainers to support local Sanford school children in need of school supplies.
