Sanford Rail Trail History

A transportation corridor evolves from railroad to multipurpose trail to linear park  Once upon a time, there was a railroad connecting Sanford and Rochester, New Hampshire. It was started around 1870 and was called the Portland and Rochester Railroad Company. It carried both passengers and freight. Sanford to host simulated lost-person emergency – Civil Air Patrol

Civil air patrols will be flying in and out of Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport on June 10 in training exercises that simulate a lost person emergency.  Sanford Composite Squadron hosts the exercise, which brings together Civil Air Patrol members from across the state, as well as representatives from state and local emergency response organizations. Crafters sought for fundraising festival 

Calling all crafters!   York County Shelter Programs is looking for crafters for the Shaker Hill Apple Festival, which will be held on the YCSP campus Saturday, Sept. 23, 10-4, and Sunday, Sept. 24, 10-3.  This juried craft fair is a big part of the festival, which also features music, family activities such as hayrides, great food and more. The Red and White Foundation has been fundraising on behalf of athletics for more than 25 years.
