Former Jr. High Now Sanford Pride Elementary School

At their March 1 meeting, members of the Sanford School Committee voted unanimously to rechristen the former Junior High School with the name Sanford Pride Elementary School. The Sanford School District Needs You!

The Sanford School Department is looking into bringing kids back to school four days per week, but the biggest barrier to this happening is staffing, especially the need for substitute teachers who can step in when a teacher is out or has to quarantine after Covid exposure. School Committee Meeting Summary: February 22, 2021

School Committee Member Jonathan Mapes apologized for comments he made at the February 8 meeting with regard to getting kids back in school more days per week. “My comment was unacceptable, for that I offer a genuine apology,” he said. Kindergarten & Pre-K Registration

Sanford’s Got Moves!

Sanford’s Got Talent is going virtual for 2021. From February 8 through February 26, the Sanford Middle School Jobs for Maine Graduates (JMG) program is accepting one-minute videos from SMS students (four day, hybrid and remote) and staff showing off their best dance moves.
