Sanford Community Adult Education Announces New Director

Jayne Perkins will be joining the staff of Sanford Community Adult Education (SCAE) on October 12 as its new full-time Program Director.  Ms. Perkins is currently teaching for Noble High School in North Berwick and has taught various grade levels from Kindergarten to High School during her thirty years in education.  It was when she had an opportunity to teach a series of history classes for Noble Adult Education that she "fell in love with all things Adult Ed." School Committee 9/20 Meeting Summary

The Sanford School Committee met Monday, September 20, 2021. Chair Don Jamison was not present. Vice Chair Paula Cote led the meeting. Public Participation Tammy Hills spoke to complain that teachers at Sanford High School are not giving mask breaks to their classes. Sanford Schools to Start Pooled Testing for Covid-19

by Steve Bussiere, Assistant Superintendent of Schools In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Sanford School Department administrators have been working closely with the Maine Department of Education to implement a free COVID-19 pooled testing program for students and staff. Pooled testing involves gathering test swabs from all consenting participants in a classroom into one “pool” every week and then testing that pooled sample for COVID-19.
