St. Thomas Celebrates Catholic Schools Week 2022

Compiled from Facebook posts St. Thomas School celebrated Catholic Schools Week 2022 from January 31 to February 4 with a week full of fun, learning and helping others. School Committee Meeting Summary

The Sanford School Committee met January 24, 2022. All Committee members were present. The minutes of the previous meetings were approved. There were no public comments. Communications Donation: Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson thanked H. A. Mapes, Inc. for their donation of $2,000 from the company’s Spirit Pump Raiser fundraiser in October and November. Good News From Sanford Schools: January 26, 2022

Compiled from staff reports and Facebook posts Sanford High School As SHS wrapped up Semester One of the school year, Project Graduation provided all of our students with a "Survival Kit" to help them through final assessments in their classes. The kits included goodies from Vitamin water to essential school supplies to keep them motivated through the end. Each kit also included a gift certificate for a four-pack of Frannie's Mini Donuts. American Legion Oratorical Contest

On December 11, the Thomas W. Cole – Post #19 held the American Legion High School Oratorical Contest to determine the representative for the Post in the District #1 - Regional Contest. The contest, which has been held since 1938, focuses on various aspects of the US Constitution. Contestants each give an eight- to ten-minute speech on a topic of their choosing, followed by three- to five-minute speeches on an assigned topic.
